Why do I need a photo-restorer?

Well the simple truth is that quite often you don't. Most image viewers come with basic image enhancement such as red eye removal and colour correction, also you can usually crop, flip and add filters. Scanners also come with a variety of auto correct functions. For a lot of the time you can create great images from your old faded photos using these simple tools. My task is to restore the images that you can't simply auto correct.

Take this example, one click on auto correct and the image looks great, but what when this doesn't happen?

This looks like a similar problem but what happens with auto correct?

It does not look pretty, several attempts with different auto correct modes did not produce any better result.

I finally achieved a reasonable result but it required several layers, blend modes and layer masks, that is where I can help you with my 10 years experience of restoring photographs. However I would always recommend you give it ago yourself first, you may be surprised and it could lead you to a new very addictive hobby.
